[BAD] Let's Play Super Robot Taisen R (SRW R); My LP of SRW R, advice/party suggestions welcome.

Hi all, be welcome to my First ever LP! Been a fan of the Super Robot Taisen (SRW) series for a while, but never found much others playing them.
While it seems fun to me to talk about the games and how to improve ourselves, I really never found feedback.
So, here I go, on a quest in beating this game. Hoping to receive support and advice while playing.

Sure, it’s my playthrough, but I want you to enjoy it just as much. While playing, I will try to unlock as much “secrets” as possible.
Most likely I will play a “test” first, to get to know the chapter. After, I will just reload and beat it on a more proper way, so it may seem like I do know what I’m doing a bit more ^_^

To be a (not manly) boy or to be chick… You guessed it right, we will be the chick.

More Japanese… I don’t understand a word really… But we can’t skip it (fortunately that feature does show up in DS games). Shoulder right + B does some speed up though.

Chapter1: Our journey begins (or I think something like that :-/ )

Many enemies attack, off course, we will be all alone. Good thing we can use some skills like Focus to help us out.
(Yes, I use a patched version to understand just a little bit of what I’m doing)

Chapter2: Falling meteor

Second chapter, which can already reward us with a “secret” mech. Only thing that has to be done, is win the chapter within 7 turns.
First off, this might seem hard, but it really is not THAT hard. Just be prepared.

Big investment for the ReGZ (BWS) in EN. But it will pay off! His strongest attack needs 20 EN, after this investment he will be able to cast it 10!! times.
Which is much better than the basic 7 times. Also upgraded his weapon strength by one, making it a real deadly machine.

But we keep on going! Even killing “bosses” with ease.

Even if we almost get killed, we have to move on.

Big MAP attack to hit multiply enemies. Does major damage, killing all who get hit.

Last, the strongest enemy will remain. Which tends to be a familiar face.

We hit him hard with a big energy beam, paired with Valor(makes next hit do double damage).

And luckily even their best unit has trouble hitting us.

We finally manage to destroy him, getting a Booster (movement+1) as a reward.

When all enemies are destroyed (end of turn5 for me), we destroy the meteor.

Chapter3: Plant protector

After destroying that giant meteor, we carry on. It seems like the plants are the target this time. Again, many enemy targets.

Even our friends from before are back. We need to kill the blue haired dude first, blue haired chick after. Last, the one remaining.
All give some nice cash and goodies in return.

This is our latest model. We’ve achieved it by beating the last chapter within 7turns.

Also Amuro got a SUPERB new machine. I believe it is actually untouchable, even without Focus.

So we start wasting enemies, while building up our morale.

The last “boss” is far weaker than the other two. So no problems there.

Chapter4: Big meteor impact

Again, a big stone is trying to destroy Earth. This time all four our friends try to stop us, in stopping them. This time we will destroy them for good?!

As always, many enemies to stop us in our tracks. No time limits this time. Just go as we like.

Kill off the first boss we encounter. She is in a “normal” mobile suit, so no real threat.

Kill off the second boss. He is a bit harder, but also his mobile suit is no match for our two Gundams.

Now our first threat shows up. Its dodgy, loads of HP and has strong attacks.

But we still destroy it with Valor paired with supported attacks.

But our “friend” Hathaway doesn’t approve killing her off… It enrages him and now he targets Chien!

Then we kill the last boss. He is much easier than the last one. His lower HP also makes it easier to destroy.

After the fight some weird creature appears… Destroying our Mother ship, what will happen next?

Chapter5: New friends

New chapter, new (friendly) mobile suits. I will introduce them later.

Our “old” friends are in a rough situation. Especially Amuro (he lost his Gundam?) seems weak.

Also our main characters gets a new mech. This one seems more like a Super Robot.

Amuro is also still really dodgy. And his powered beam does wipe out enemies quickly. Maybe they got weaker?

After some turns our new friends arrive. This one has the Luck ability, so more money when it kills.

Chapter6: Three friends, one machine!

Chapter7: Save our souls!

Mazinger squad doesn’t have much to offer right now… The females can heal. While Boss Barot is just easy to kill, he does have the Sport ability though.

huh...I forgot just how poorly SRWs aged, and yet the older SRWs had cool things like the MP Nu Gundam.

oh, just a note here, SRW R is a Dodging game. even Supers like the Mazingers have VERY low armor, nothing ever really exceeding 1200 without upgrades. focus primarily on reals like the Aestis and the Gundams.

oh, and if at all possible...SAVE GAI DAGOJI. he is a Man among Men and Double Gekigan Flare is ALWAYS awesome.

Oh! put both Nu Gundams them next to, or diagonal from eachother. you will get what is called a "Combination attack". Combination attacks are exactly what they sound like: two or more units spend from their EN pools to combine their powers to throw an ABSURDLY powerful attack. in older SRWs, you needed to upgrade a specific weapon from each unit to power the combination attack up, but newer SRWs pool all weapon upgrades together at one cost.

oh, here's a fun fact: Aestis need no energy investment ever. they effectively have infinite EN so long as they stay near the Nadesico. in J, they show that the Nadesico has a 4-5 square radius marked in yellow that FULLY restores Aestis EN at the start of the turn when they're in there.
