Hello everyone! This is a Let's Play of the first-person adventure game The Elder Scrolls III: MORROWIND, a game set in the land of
Vvardenfell, Morrowind in the Third Era. That nonsensical jargon basically means that it's based here!:

Posted Image

If you are unfamiliar with this map, it is that of the fantasy world Nirn- more specifically Tamriel, where the ELDER SCROLLS games are based. But enough
infodump! On with the adventure!

Disclaimer area:

There are several things I should note about the game and the way I will be playing it that should be made apparent beforehand. So, here they are:

1. I will be playing the game in-character, as if I really am the character as I am commenting on the game. This will mean that quotes by me, the player,
will be italicized and separated from his dialogue.

2. I have played this game many times before, and there will no doubt be times that I will search for "X magic item" because it will help me attain "Y
immortal power". There will be no way around this, so I have made a solution: the character I will be playing will be in possession of a magical orb
named bob, who also doubles as a Crystal Ball. Basically, he will infodump the character beforehand about treasure, their objectives/motives, etc.
and work together as characters. Things will still be unique to me, and I will act so, but this character has been designed so I don't have to feign
ignorance over the locations of various objects or quests when I know EXACTLY where they are because of my previous playthroughs.

3. I will be playing MORROWIND on the -20 difficulty setting- basically a number between -100 and 100, 0 being the average difficulty. This number
will never be changed, and obstacles created in the game by difficulty will have to either be encountered or ignored.

4. This is not a playthrough of the Main Quest of the game, but of the adventures of the character I will be playing. This does not mean that the main
quest will not be dealt with- it will. But this is a full series of events, most of which are usually unrelated to the Main Quest.

5. If you have any questions about the Let's Play or any queries or suggestions/comments, feel free to email me at LetsPlayMorrowind@yahoo.com.
If you want, you may ask the character I play these questions, and they will be carried to him via BOB, the talking orb.

6. The only modifications to the game that I will be using include: Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and any mods I make regarding BOB the Orb or the Let's Play.

Now, let us begin!

The game begins with an intro cinematic showcasing our arrival to Morrowind, and how we're going to be a completely paramount influence on this
continent once we arrive. We'll see, Morrowind, we'll see.

Here's a link to that intro cinematic, if you wish to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5I9e_6X35w

I am awoken by Juib, a prisoner of the Imperials.

He claims that we have indeed reached Morrowind. He asks me my name, and I tell him Aramis Darkmagic. Odd, how he would ask my name
now, after we have spent days travelling by boat to this continent. Now that we are to depart, are we to disclose our names? Strange man.

This basically serves as the "Name generation screen", where we get to pick our name to be referred to for the rest of the game by NPC's.
The game's dialogue, apart from greetings, is done in text, which makes it rather refreshing since you are actually referred to by your name.
(In the later games Oblivion and Skyrim, nobody knows your name because nobody can voice act it. ^_^ )

No matter- a guard approaches!

Posted Image
Guard: "This is where you get off. Come with me."

The guard turns and leaves, and only then am I given the ability to move. (That was the only thing keeping me from moving, too. What kind
of Prison Ship is this? I could just walk around at any time. No bars- Nothing!)

(And don't tell me that this isn't a Prison Ship, because it's in the NAME)

The guard comes by, and he leads us up out of that decrepid ship. I guess we'll
be free to go now!

Another guard directs me to the Census office, which is... Literately right down
the dock. Seriously? I'm a wizard, sir. If I can't find my way off of this obviously
railroaded boat to the character creation, how can you expect me to know deep
secrets of the arcane? (In his defense, my class hasn't been established as of yet.
But just look at that name- "Darkmagic"... That Wizard or what?)

Immediately after I walk off of the ship and onto the dock of Morrowind, another
guard greets me. Now, this is the race selection screen. Let's go over the various
races before we make a decision:

Argonian: The Argonian is a lizard man who doesn't have too much in the way of
direct versatility, but he makes up for his "dabbling" into combat and wizardry by
being able to breathe underwater, which is a godsend in some quests. They can't
wear certain helmets or boots, so they are a definite no.

Bretons are white guys who are weak in combat but strong in magic.

Dark Elves are grey elves with red eyes- Like Juib, the name generation guy! They
excell at Magic and Combat, but again fail in rogueish abilities. They are the main
inhabitants of Morrowind- Expect to see a LOT of them.

High Elves are the best in the game at spellcasting, but also have the worst penalties
possible for having this. I will be a High Elf, due to their superiority in magic. You'll see
why this is a bad idea later on, though- I'll crumple like paper to elemental effects.

Imperials are another white human that have taken over Tamriel via Manifest Destiny and
brutal warfare. They are the leading race in Tamriel as a whole, but Morrowind is a new
province to colonise for them, so there won't be as many Imperials in this game. Note: They
are not evil like in Skyrim.

Khajiit are cat people. They're good at rogue abilities and clawing people. Next.

Nords are the Conan the Barbarians of the Elder Scrolls universe. They are all either biker dudes
or Norwegian, but in either case they are brutal warriors who often revere snowy landscapes and
simple gods.

Orcs are the same as Nords stat-wise: just another brute, just in a non-human variant. They are
not hostile like in LOTR.

Redguards are the black guys of Tamriel. They are masters of the blade, but are lacking in magical
skills and rogue skills.

Wood Elves are very rogue-ish elves, and they make perfect assassins and scouts.

After we generate our race, we are lead inside the Census Building. Next update, we'll generate our
stats, steal ourselves some sick wizard loot, and do some local quests- hopefully getting acquainted
to the new land of Morrowind in the process!

I'm a massive fan of Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO, but I've scarcely played Morrowind. I've got the anthology, so I might give it a go. This looks awesome by the way!

I've been an Elder Scrolls player since the very first one (Arena). Love this series, screenshots bring back so many memories ("I saw a mudcrab the other day..."). I'd like to see more please :-D
